Program Notes
In 1978, I wrote a musical with my friend Pamela Pescara on Carson McCullers’ The Member of the Wedding. The musical never got anywhere, but I loved some of the music from it, particularly two ballads. I have now made arrangements of those two songs for concert band (as two thirds of Three Songs for Band), for euphonium and piano, bassoon and piano, alto saxophone and guitar, and one of them as half of Two Love Songs for low brass.
